On 15 January 2026, before dawn, civilians unwillingly activated an explosive rigged motorcycle placed by the Malian military and Africa Corps in Tin-Lokiyane, in the area of Goundam (Goundam, Goundam, Tombouctou). The explosion injured two civilians.
