On 14 January 2026, in Kan Thit Ywar Ma village (Budalin township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), local people's defense forces intercepted and attacked a Myanmar military column coming from the Northwest Military Regional Command. The two sides then exchanged fire for about an hour. During the armed clash, the military conducted airstrikes and drone strikes and dropped bombs with a gyrocopter and suicide drones and fired heavy weapons. Casualties unknown.
