On 14 January 2026, between Kan and Pyin Pin Maw villages (coded as Pyin Pin Maw) (Mingin township, Kale district, Sagaing region), the Student Revolution Force (SRF) intercepted Myanmar military troops who were advancing towards Pyin Pin Maw village at about 9 am. The two sides then exchanged fire for about an hour. During the clash, the military troops stepped on landmines planted by the SRF, killing at least 5 military troops. 5 fatalities.
