On 14 January 2026, in Kyaukpyu township (Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), a fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army (ULA/AA) in the morning. During the clash, the No. 32 Police Battalion (based in Kyaukpyu) fired heavy weapons and conducted drone strikes. Casualties unknown.
