On 14 January 2026, between Bhamo and Momauk towns (coded as Bhamo) (Bhamo township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), a combined force of the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) and the People's Defense Force (under the NUG) attacked and captured the military camp of the Myanmar military's No.993 Transport Battalion. A KIO/KIA officer claimed that about 20 military troops surrendered to the combined force. Casualties unknown.
