On 14 January 2026, in San Jose del Palmar municipality (Choco), suspected members of the Ernesto Che Guevara front of the ELN dropped several IEDs from drones onto military units patrolling the Alto del Oso vereda, injuring 10 soldiers. The injured were airlifted to a hospital. There were no fatalities.
