On 14 January 2026, in Sao Goncalo - Sao Goncalo (Rio de Janeiro), the military and civil police exchanged fire with CV members in a police operation in the Salgueiro Complex. This was the second day in a row of shootings in the region (coded separately). According to the Civil Police, four people died during the shootout; residents reported that there were six deaths and that they were executions. An aerial cameraman was grazed in the leg while providing environmental monitoring services for the Rio de Janeiro State Water and Sewage Company (Ceade) on a helicopter flight. At least 4 fatalities.
