On 14 January 2026, around 7 am, an unidentified armed group (likely JNIM due to the area of operation and modus operandi) fired gunshots and set on fire the police station in Gnemasson (Pehunco, Atacora), including motorcycles parked outside. After storming the station, the attackers, numbering around 30, demanded the release of those being held in custody before ordering the officers to evacuate the premises. The attackers then fled toward a nearby village. Casualties unknown.
