On 13 January 2026, in Monywa township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the 5/ Commando Force and the People's Defense Force - Monywa District (Battalion-28 Company-3) carried out mine attacks against Myanmar military troops traveling in two vehicles near the Ta Dar Hpyu Bridge at about 6:30 am. 2 military troops were killed. 2 fatalities.
