On 13 January 2026, in Oaxtepec, Morelos, armed men traveling in two trucks shot at municipal police officers who shot back after officers attempted to stop the vehicles. Police officers shot back, killing one armed men. According to some sources, the perpetrators were members of La Empresa gang. Another version suggest that the perpetrators were members of the Pueblos Unidos self-defense group. Two officers were injured. 1 fatality.
