On 13 January 2026, in Itabaiana (Sergipe), civil police officers exchanged fire with a drug trafficker in the Sao Cristovao neighbourhood. The officers conducted an operation to arrest the suspect, who was wanted for drug trafficking and resisted. An armed clash took place and the suspect was shot and killed. Police seized drugs. 1 fatality.
