On 13 January 2026, near Catole do Rocha municipality (Paraiba), unidentified armed individuals shot and killed a couple on the PB-331 highway. The perpetrators fired against the couple, who were on a motorcycle, and escaped immediately. Both of them had a police record for drug trafficking and police are investigating if the shooting was motivated by drug trafficking disputes. The authorship and motivations are unknown. 2 fatalities.
