On 13 January 2026, gunmen from Peace Companies clashed with Energy Police supported by the army at Al Mithaq gas station in Baghdad - Al Shaab city (Baghdad), exchanging fire (light and medium weapons), during an arrest attempt that followed an attack by the gunmen on a worker at a fuel station. Security forces arrested nine participants in the clash. On 14 January 2026, Muqtada Al Sadr ordered the expulsion of 12 members of Peace Companies following the clash. Two members of the security forces and a passerby (a pilgrim) were injured. 3 injured. There were no fatalities.
