RPG event in Bago-East, Kyein Khar Kone area, Myanmar on Mon 12th January 2026

On 12 January 2026, in Kyein Khar Kone village (Kyauktaga township, Bago district, Bago-east region), a combined force of the People's Defense Force - Bago Region, the People's Defense Force - Bago District Battalion 3702, the Special Commando Battalion - Southern Region, the People's Defense Force - Bago District Battalion 3703, and the Royal Peacock Column attacked a Myanmar military column of around 100 soldiers at approximately 1:30 pm. During the clash, the combined force seized one 60mm long-barrel mortar, two 60mm short-barrel mortars, one RPG launcher, seven MA-1 rifles, two MA-2 rifles, two MA-3 rifles, and three MA-11 rifles. Along with the firearms, various munitions were recovered, consisting of twenty-four 60mm mortar bombs, twenty-four Energa grenades, two RPG grenades with two propellant charges, nine 40mm grenades, and nine assorted magazines. During the attack, about 20 military soldiers were killed, while 2 combined force members were killed and 3 combined force members were injured. 22 fatalities.
