On 12 January 2026, in La Nopalera Poniente, Michoacan de Ocampo, three individuals shot at the National Guard at the border between Aguililla and Apatzingan, on a road connecting the towns of La Cuchilla and La Pena Colorada. Officers shot back and killed the three men. One of them was a minor and the other was identified as a Colombian national. Officers seized rifles and motorcycles. 3 fatalities.
