On 12 January 2026, in Santana (Amapa), members of a drug trafficking group tortured a man who was held in captivity inside an abandoned house used as a base for criminal activity. The victim, who was suspected to be another member of the group, was restrained and assaulted for more than three days as punishment for stealing a bicycle, before security forces intervened and detained the suspects. There were no fatalities.
