On 12 January 2026, in Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul), unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle killed, in a drive-by shooting, two men on the street in the Jardim Itu neighborhood. The attackers fired at least 15 shots while passing the location, striking both victims on the sidewalk and killing them at the scene, before fleeing. One victim had prior criminal records for drug trafficking. The area was known as a drug trafficking point, and the attack was suspected to be related to disputes over drug trafficking. 2 fatalities.
