On 11 January 2026, in Gangaw town (Gangaw township, Gangaw district, Magway region), a combined force of the Magway Division People's Defense Force, battalions under the People's Defense Force-Gangaw District, and other allied groups, including the village People's Defense Force (PaKaPha), conducted drone strikes and dropped 10 bombs on Myanmar military forces stationed at LIB 50, Myoma Ward, Si Pin Tharyar Ward, the staff housing, Weilat bridge checkpoint, and the Municipal Office. The combined force also fired 80 rounds of heavy weapons. The attack injured one second lieutenant, five conscripted soldiers, and members of the Pyu Saw Htee militia.
