On 11 January 2026, in Htantabin town (Htantabin township, Taungoo district, Bago-East region), the Taungoo District People's Defense Force Battalion 3502 conducted a drone strike on the General Administration Department office in the morning on the election day. The explosion killed 3 people, including 2 Myanmar military soldiers and an Assistant Director from the Taungoo District General Administration Department. The explosion also injured election commission members. 3 fatalities.
