On 11 January 2026, in Waw township (Bago district, Bago-East region), a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army battalion 7, the Yangon Region Military Command Strategic Unit 28 (coded as People Defense Force - Yangon Region), and People's Defense Force (PaKaPha) - Bago District's Artillery Unit fired rocket weapons on the police station and a communication tower equipped with heavy weapons, around noon. The attack killed 3 Myanmar military soldiers and injured the soldiers. 3 fatalities.
