On 11 January 2026, National Guard fighters shelled civilian homes in Mazra'a town in rural As Sweida with heavy machine guns and mortars, leading Syrian police members to target a National Guard position near the coal factory in the Mazra'a area, injuring four individuals. There were no fatalities.
