On 10 January 2026, in Nwe Ta Mei village (Salin township, Minbu district, Magway region), the Myanmar military attacked and regained control of the Nwe Ta Mei village which had been seized by the People's Defense Force - PDF. It is unknown when the combined force took control of the village. During the clash, one PDF member was killed and the Myanmar military seized four hand grenades, 11 improvised mines, two 40mm grenades, one bulletproof vest, five ballistic helmets, four sets of camouflage uniforms, three walkie-talkies, and one set of insignia badges.
