On 10 January 2026, in Gangaw town (Gangaw township, Gangaw district, Magway region), resistance forces fired five 107mm rockets at the military's Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 50 and military soldiers stationed at the municipal office, the Welat bridge checkpoint, and the main entrance gate to Gangaw town at 6:00 am. Two rockets exploded at the LIB-50, another two exploded at the main entrance gate, another one exploded at the municipal office and the other one exploded at the Welat bridge checkpoint. Casualties unknown.
