On 10 January 2026, SPLM/A-IO and SSPDF forces clashed at the latter's military base in Jikmir Payam (Luakpiny/Nasir County, Upper Nile State). The clash ensued after SPLM/A-IO shelled the SSPDF base and led to both sides shelling their opponent's position. There were no casualties.
