On 10 January 2026, a VDP patrol struck against an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on location) on the RR16 between Dionkongo and Seriba, coded to Dina (Nouna, Kossi, Boucle du Mouhoun), a midpoint between the two locations. The explosion injured three VDPs.
