On 10 January 2026, Nigerian troops clashed with suspected ISSP (locally called Lakurawa) who were attacking Karfen Chana village, coded to LGA HQ, Balle (Gudu, Sokoto), and forced them to retreat. The militia attacked the community and looted an unspecified number of cattle before the troops intervened. The troops recovered the looted cattle. There were no casualties.
