On 10 January 2026, police and CJTF engaged a Kaduna militia in a firefight, killing 2 militants in Idissu village, also spelled Idasu (Giwa, Kaduna). Police and CJTF were mobilized to the village to stop the militia's attempt to attack the village for failing to pay an imposed levy. The militia ambushed the police and engaged them in a firefight. Other militants escaped with gunshot injuries. Police recovered arms and ammunition.
