Mine event in Magway Region, Seikphyu area, Myanmar on Sun 1st February 2026

Six junta soldiers were killed and two defected after resistance forces attacked a military logistics convoy transporting supplies and electricity poles from Seikphyu toward Salin Township in Magway Region, according to a spokesperson from Pakokku District Battalion 4.

The attack occurred on the afternoon of February 1, near Myinkawa Village in Seikphyu Township. Resistance fighters ambushed the convoy, which included a tractor, a jammer vehicle, three Faw trucks, and one 12-wheeled truck carrying power poles. The attack involved three large landmines planted along the road.

According to reports, six junta soldiers were killed in the explosion. During the chaos, two newly recruited junta soldiers fled and later surrendered to the Pakokku District Battalion 4.
