The Myanmar military carried out two aerial bombardments using helicopters and gyrocopters on areas where displaced civilians were sheltering near Mogone Village in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, according to local residents who spoke to Yangon Khit Thit News Agency.

At around 4 p.m. and again at about 8 p.m. on January 31, two helicopters and two gyrocopters reportedly dropped bombs on makeshift huts and farmlands where internally displaced persons (IDPs) were living and farming.

The bombed sites were known to be areas where civilians displaced by previous military raids had sought refuge. Although there were no reported human casualties, three cows and one pig were killed when hit by bomb shrapnel.
