A source from the Karenni resistance said that 15 junta soldiers, including Captain Aung Myo Khant, were killed when resistance forces ambushed a military vehicle traveling from Loikaw toward Loi Lin Lay in Karenni State.

The ambush occurred around 10 a.m. on January 23, near Kyauk Kyi Village in Loi Lin Township, when resistance fighters intercepted and attacked a military patrol truck that had departed from Loikaw. Captain Aung Myo Khant, aged 25, was among those killed in the fighting.
