The Brussels West Local Police Service has launched an investigation into an explosion outside a house on the Armand de Saulnierstraat in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The explosion is believed to have been caused by a firebomb, although the police will not confirm this at this stage. In a statement a spokesperson for the Brussels West Local Police Service said "It is correct that at around 1am an explosion was heard and a fire started outside a house. The Fire Service went to the scene to extinguish the fire. The front of the house was damaged, but no one was injured”.The explosion is likely to have been caused by a firebomb, but further investigation is needed to confirm whether this is indeed the case.
