SAA event in Lebanon on Wed 28th January 2026

As part of the security measures implemented by the military to combat drug trafficking, an army unit conducted a raid in the Jwar al-Hashish area of ​​Hermel, seizing a drug manufacturing lab and a quantity of narcotics. Other units also arrested two individuals: - The arrest of Lebanese citizen (S.T.) in the Iaat area of ​​Baalbek, who was wanted on numerous arrest warrants for firing at an army patrol. A handgun was found in his possession. - The arrest of Syrian national (H.A.) at the Safri checkpoint in Baalbek for possessing counterfeit currency and for illegal entry. Additionally, the Directorate of Military Intelligence conducted raids in the Al-Foun and Al-Hamira areas of Hermel, seizing a drug manufacturing lab, a large quantity of Captagon pills, and the raw materials used in their production. The seized items were handed over, and the two detainees were interrogated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
