A naval mine was spotted on Wednesday on the beach near the Midia shooting range, announced the Ministry of National Defense.

The area was secured by authorities, and specialists were dispatched to the site for its neutralization.

"On Wednesday, around 10:05, soldiers from the Midia shooting range discovered a stranded naval mine on the beach near the shooting range. The perimeter was secured with the support of the Constanța County Police Inspectorate, and the specific operational procedure for this situation was implemented.

A team of EOD divers from the 39 Divers Center is working on identifying and neutralizing the discovered mine," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Two days ago, a fragment of a possible drone was found by the Coast Guard at the entrance to the port of Midia, according to a statement from the MoD. It was later detonated.
