Powerful explosions rocked the Black Sea port of Sevastopol in the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula, prompting the occupying authorities to close the Crimean Bridge for more than seven hours, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported on Jan. 28.
The bridge, which was illegally built to connect annexed Crimea with Russia, was closed from midnight until morning.
Following the explosions, an air raid alert was declared across the peninsula, potentially indicating an ongoing Ukrainian attack on Russian air defenses.
Two more explosions were heard near the Belbek military airfield at 7:39 a.m. Earlier, overnight explosions were reported near Cape Fiolent, close to the Saki airbase in Novofedorivka, and around midnight near the Kacha military airfield.
Russian propaganda media outlets claimed in the morning that new groups of attack drones were approaching Sevastopol from the sea. Internet access has been shut down across the city.
There has been no official information from Russian authorities regarding damage or casualties.
