Intense clashes broke out on January 26 between junta troops and forces under the Karen National Union (KNU) near the Myanmar–Thailand border, according to the Thai news outlet Khaosod. A civilian house on the Thai side was reportedly damaged after being hit by stray gunfire.

The fighting occurred in Min Let Pan village on the Myanmar side of the border, opposite Mae Ko Kin and Huai Mahawan villages in Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province, Thailand. Junta forces from Light Infantry Battalion 22 launched attacks on KNU military camps using both conventional bombs and “kamikaze” suicide drones.
