A village administrator working under the military regime was shot and killed in Myay Ni Kone Village, Ywangan Township, Shan State, according to local residents who spoke to Yangon Khit Thit News Agency.

On the evening of January 21, unidentified gunmen abducted and shot dead Myint Thei, the junta-appointed village administrator of Myay Ni Kone Village. Reports indicate that he had taken up his administrative position just over one month before the attack.
