On January 18, Police arrested two shooters, identified as Chandra Shekhar and Jaspal Singh, after an encounter in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Kesar Dhami, reports The Tribune. The accused, Chandra Shekhar and Jaspal Singh, sustained bullet injuries to their legs during retaliatory firing after allegedly opening fire on a Police team at Adampur. Police said the duo rammed their motorcycle into Dhami’s bike on January 16, causing him to fall, after which he was shot dead. Police recovered two .32 bore pistols, live cartridges and the motorcycle used in the crime. An FIR was registered under BNS and Arms Act provisions. Further investigation and verification of criminal antecedents are underway.
