SAA event in Iran, Islamic Republic of on Mon 29th December 2025

Rubina Aminian, a Kurdish citizen from Nodsheh Paveh and a 22-year-old student at Tehran’s Shariati University, was shot in the head and killed by the Islamic Republic’s military-security forces during popular protests in Tehran on January 8, 1404. Security agencies initially refused to hand over her body to her family, but the family managed to secretly remove her body from the hospital. According to reports, the family initially planned to bury Rubina Aminian in Kermanshah, where the family lives, but they were confronted with a large presence of security forces in front of the family home and prevented them from issuing a death certificate. Ultimately, her body was transferred from Nodsheh to a village in Marivan and buried, without the family being allowed to hold a public funeral.
