UAV event in Sagaing Region, Salingyi area, Myanmar on Sun 25th January 2026

On the morning of January 25, local resistance groups launched a coordinated assault using heavy weapons, drones, and small arms on the military positions stationed in Salingyi town. During the attack, military troops reportedly sustained casualties, though the exact number could not be confirmed. The resistance fighters successfully withdrew without suffering any casualties.

Ko Vite said, “Yesterday, starting around 11 a.m. until about 3 p.m., we attacked several military-occupied places in Salingyi town using heavy weapons and drones. There were around 160 military personnel stationed there. We haven’t confirmed their casualty figures yet, but there were likely some deaths. Elections couldn’t be held in Salingyi town—those were organized only in Yansi. Since it was election day, we carried out the operation by advancing into the town.”
