Skaneateles, N.Y. — A small chlorine leak at the City of Syracuse Water Department in Skaneateles on Wednesday forced an evacuation of the building, according to city officials. Around 12:14 p.m., a leak was detected underground at one of the wells at the gatehouse at 20 West Genesee St. in the village, said Sol Muñoz, a city of Syracuse spokesperson. Workers immediately shut off the pipe and notified 911 to ensure the leak was fully secured and the building was evacuated, she said.
