In Chaung-U Township’s Aung Chan Thar village, the military troops that launched an offensive shot and killed three civilians, set fire to houses, and took 15 people — including monks and women — as human shields.
According to a representative of the Monywa Revolution (MR) speaking to Yangon Khit Thit News, military troops that raided Aung Chan Thar village in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, killed three civilians, burned down homes, and abducted 15 civilians — including monks and women — to use as human shields.
At around 9:35 a.m. on January 18, a military convoy of three vehicles carrying more than 20 soldiers stormed Aung Chan Thar village in Chaung-U Township. After entering the village, they executed three villagers — two married couples aged about 50 and a man aged 40. These three victims had reportedly been arrested earlier on December 31, 2025, in Chaung-U town and later brought back to the village to be executed.
