On 9 January 2026, in Timon (Maranhao), two unidentified armed suspects shot and killed a man in the Vila Monteiro neighbourhood. The suspects broke into a house and fired against the victim, escaping afterwards. There were other people in the house who were not harmed. Likewise, two unidentified armed suspects shot and killed a man in the Sao Benedito neighbourhood. The suspects arrived at the location on a motorcycle and broke into the victim's house, where they fired against him and escaped immediately. The authorship and motivations are unknown. 2 fatalities.
