On 9 January 2026, in Rio de Janeiro - North Zone (Rio de Janeiro), the military police exchanged fire with drug traffickers in the Parada de Lucas neighborhood. The police were called after drug traffickers beat and injured an off-duty civil police officer who mistakenly entered a community while trying to escape a robbery on Lirio Mauricio da Fonseca Street. During the shooting, an elderly woman was shot and killed. 1 fatality.
