On 8 January 2026, in Port-au-Prince - La Saline, Ouest, police forces engaged in clashes with gang members as they conducted security operations in the neighborhood and near the Varreux Terminal, where regular activity was suspended due to the clashes. Gunshots were heard. During the intervention, the police razed a house belonging to the deceased leader of the Base Nan Chabon Gang, Ti Junior. They also destroyed the house of the current gang leader. One source stated that the gang members managed to flee before the police arrived to their bases. Casualties unknown.
