On 8 January 2026, in Belem (Para), two armed men on a motorcycle killed, in a drive-by shooting, a man who was working with his father painting a restaurant in the Marco neighborhood. At least nine shots were fired during the attack. The victim had previously been arrested and had been accused in past cases involving the killing of military police officers (coded separately), but was later acquitted in at least one of these cases. The motive for the attack remains unclear. 1 fatality.
