On 8 January 2026, in Salvador - Barra/Pituba (Bahia), civil police officers exchanged fire with a drug trafficker in the Graca neighbourhood. The officers conducted an operation to arrest the suspect, who was wanted for drug trafficking and for shooting a civil police officer during a clash on 14 July 2025 in the Engomadeira neighbourhood (coded separately). The suspect resisted and fired against the officers, leading to an armed clash. He was shot and killed. Police seized a firearm and drugs. 1 fatality.
