On 8 January 2026, in Riohacha (La Guajira), two unidentified armed assailants on a motorcycle carried out a drive-by shooting against a group of people who were working cutting scrap metal near the Wayuu cemetery, killing one Wayuu Indigenous man and another man. There is no further information on the identity or motives of the perpetrators. 2 fatalities.
