Around 8 January 2026 (as reported), an unidentified armed group invaded the community on motorbikes during a family meeting and games session before police intervened (means unspecified) in Gomoa West district, coded to capital Apam (Gomoa West, Central). The assailants were said to have intended to kill the chief (Gomoa Wassa Gyasehene). The incident was linked to an ongoing chieftaincy dispute and believed to have been orchestrated by the community's Nkosuohene, Tei, who was recently destooled. The cheif escaped unharmed. There were no casualties.
