On 8 January 2026, Nigerian troops clashed with a Plateau militia in the Yolan Gboka-Yama Da Lahdi area, coded to the LGA HQ, Barkin Ladi (Barkin Ladi, Plateau). The troops came under attack while raiding the militia's hideout and engaged them in a firefight, killing 1 militia member while others escaped. The militia was responsible for the killing of illegal miners in the Tosho community in Fann District on 16 December 2025. The troops recovered two AK-47 rifles and 162 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. There was 1 fatality.
