On 8 January 2026, in Cortazar, Guanajuato, unknown armed individuals entered a home in Colonia Los Huertos and shot and killed a woman and a man in a home. The woman was identified as a bodybuilder and the man as the former municipal sports official. The house was found on fire with both bodies burning. 2 fatalities.
